Once upon on a time there lived a very clever elephant. He used to take bath in a river. After bath he would return by same road every day. The shopkeepers by the side of the road gave him banana, plantain and other sweet things to eat. There was a mischievous tailor on the way. He was envious of the elephant.
One day the tailor raised his hand as if he was going to give something to the elephant. The elephant held out his trunk to receive the offer. But the tailor pricked the trunk with his needle. The next day the elephant came from the river with his trunk filled with muddy water. He spilt the water into the tailor’s shop. All the clothes in the shop were spoiled by the muddy water .Thus the elephant took revenge upon the wicked

THE SLAVE AND THE LION
Once there lived a slave in ancient Carthage. His master was very cruel to him. He was cruelly beaten for the slightest mistake itself. At last he ran away from his master and slept that night in a cave in the forest. A lion’s roar awakened him in the morning. The slave was horribly frightened. But to his great manner the lion held up with his paw and looked at him in a pathetic manner. He slave gathered courage and look into the paw. He paw was wounded and a big thorn was stuck in it. The slave took out the thorn very carefully. The lion felt relief in the pain in his paw and was very grateful to the slave.
They lived together in the forests as friends. But after some months the slave become homesick and wished to have the company of human beings. He went to the Carthage. There his master’s man recognized him and caught hold of him. He was condemned by the judge to be thrown to the lions kept in the roman amphitheater. Thousands of the people gathered in the amphitheater to the witness the fight between the slave and the lion’s. He stood in the middle for waiting for the lion to jump upon him and tear him into pieces. Then the half starved lion came out of the cage and angrily rushed towards him. But as a surprise to the spectators the lion stopped at him and licked his feet. The governor was pleased with him. They lived together for the rest of their life.

SAD END OF THE THREE GREEDY MEN
Once three greedy men were passing through a forest. Each of them pretended to be in friends with the two others. They had a bag of money to be divided among themselves. Each of them wished to get the money himself. They become tired after walking a long. One of them was sent to the nearest town to bring some food for others.
Being very greedy, he wished to get money for himself. He put poison into the food the food for killing the others. Mean while his companions planned to murder him as soon as he returned to them. They were anxiously waiting for his return. Hoping to share the money between them, they laid hands on him. After murdering him they ate the food not knowing the wicked scheme, of their companion. Both of them fell dead. Thus their greed for wealth resulted in the dead of all them.

THE GREEDY MISER
One day a miser was going on a journey on the way he lost his purse containing a hundred gold coins. He advertised in the newspapers promising a reward of ten gold coins to person who finds the purse and bring to him .A few days later a farmer brought to him the purse. The miser counted the money and found that there were a hundred gold coins. He was very happy, and thanked the farmer in a very polite manner. The farmer asked for the reward. Then the miser remarked that the purse contained a hundred and ten gold coins and that the farmer had already taken his reward. There was a quarrel and the farmer appealed to their judge. After hearing the case the judge asked for the purse. He noticed that the purse could contain just a hundred coins. He concluded that the miser was telling lies. He told the miser that the purse was not his because it was not able to contain more than a hundred gold coins. Finally the purse was presented to the farmer. The greedy and dishonest miser came to grief and went away.
